In 1973 Bruce Goff was commissioned to design and build a home in Arizona for Celestine Barby. The archives include letters between Goff and Barby about costs, materials, and design decisions. This Leroy lettering set is a pantograph, used to create standardized lettering on hand-drawn plans and elevations. As part of Goff ‘s trust in organic form and holistic presentation, he designed his own hand-lettered fonts but also used mechanical lettering tools.
